So, alot of people play on the internet when they could (should) be doing other things such as studying… right? wrong? stupid? or smart? or just fun?:dubious:
I’m sick of studying. I’m taking 9 classes, have 9 finals between last week and the next, including memorization heavy classes like Microbiology and Pharm, and I can’t study any more.
Therefore, the right answer is: playing on the internet. As you seem to have discovered yourself.
9 classes??? College classes, as in 9 individual classes? 27 hours? How is that even possible?
I am literally right now a grad student playing on the internet while I should be studying for a test on Monday.
You’re asking this question of other people who are playing on the internet, instead of what we should be doing?
From my recent experiences in grad school, for the majority of students doing anything other than school work is the priority.
You can’t play on the internet! The internet is serious business!
Dude, grad school will always be there but the internet might not.
Even with just regular school, if you aren’t playing on the internet you’re out with friends, staring at the wall. I have a huge problem when I need to finish a paper suddenly finding my cupboards need to be reorganized and all my shoes shined.
It’s all about procrastination.
Based on my own behavior, playing on the internet. This may explain my stats grade. sigh at own stupidity
But now it is summer. Lalalalala! Guilt-free internet screwing around!
Playing on the internet is wonderful to do in the library with a large pile of unopened books sitting next to you.
Ah, grad school! I love it. Writing my dissertation on the other hand…
Heh… you must have just finished the first year. Ain’t no such thing as “guilt-free” anything after that.
Not that it changes anything…
I’m in optometry school. This is what I’m taking:
Microbiology and Lab
Ocular Pharmacology
Ophthalmic Optics II and Lab
Human and Visual Development
Cornea and Contact Lens and Lab
Optometric Procedures and Theory III and Lab
Clinical Medicine and Lab
Visual Perception and Lab
Visual Fields and Lab
It’s a quarter system too, which means we get this crammed into a smaller time period too. And yes, this semester is kicking my butt three ways to Sunday
This is (from what I’ve been told) the worst quarter of the whole four years of it, which is good because I’m not sure I could do this for much longer.
I’m done after next week’s finals though.
Yup! But I am doing a masters, not a PhD, so it’ll be even BETTER next year, when I am done done done done done.
Oh, that’s just mean.
At least I’m not in optometry school. I’m pretty sure I’d snap about a month into that schedule. I don’t know how cromulent can do it.
You’re right, it’s not guilt free. And I believe that people that get on the internet just to screw around on forums when they’re in college are complete idiots. I mean, people get on forums like this to make controversial comments and waste their time. Like comments about feminists (Love 'em) or comments about politics or law or Chuck Norris or etc. Why not go and study the thing rather then ask people you don’t even know, and who might be retarded?. If you’re in college, you shouldn’t be screwing around, get over it people. College equals studying. I mean, if my boyfriend keeps making stupid comments on forums and wasting time when I know he should be focusing on grad school, then I take that to mean he’ll never be serious about anything, including our relationship, that’s why I posted this question.:mad::mad::mad::mad:
Just… wow. Have you considered alcohol with your internets?
My undergrad degree required 30 hours of class and lab every week; when I got to Grad School in the US I couldn’t believe I only had 7 hours of class and 5 of teaching. I asked to be allowed to take another course, and this was granted only because another student had had the same reaction and made the same request.
Apparently the teachers thought 10+5 was “overload,” even though this was the first term and therefore we weren’t performing research yet.
Either I’m still alive or this post is being typed by an undead…
