Wait - my mistake. That’s the combination on your luggage.

My locker combo in sixth grade. It was locker #96. That combination of numbers fascinated me then, and it has ever since. I’m still waiting for another chance to use it.

I could not tell you the combo to my locker at work, even though I open it a dozen times per week. I have to be in front of the lock to figure it out, then I couldn’t even tell you after that. I open it by turning to certain position relative to the multiples of 5 printed on the dial. Plus, I think there is about 3+/- marks of “play” in my lock, so I don’t even need to come close to get it open. Only secure thing my lock has going for it is that I have to pull on it at least 3 times or so to get it to unlatch. Some one trying to “hack” my combo would surely not spend the time to pull 3 times on each possible combo. hehehe
Try 978-671-0948, funny thing is, it only works on phones.
No I don’t have any plans for Friday, why do you ask?
Ah, susan_foster beat me to it.
Masterlock (and possibly other major padlock manufacturers) at one point had an arrangement with hardware stores to provide the combos for forgetful owners.

Don’t feel old, feel very proud of your mental retention skills.
And Struan, I admire the way you think!

Hey, that used to be my area code! This is not a guess-my-phone-number game! ![]()
