What's new and hot in mice?

I have had my MS Trackball Explorer for awhile now, but I think I need something new. It must be a trackball, I can’t stand ball-on-the-bottom mice. I really like having the two extra buttons, I use them instead of my browser’s arrows. Anyone have any opinions on what to buy?

Freshly grilled cheese?

Richard Gere?

Oh, wait, those are gerbils.

And the “in” is misplaced.

You people!

Seriously, if I had posted something like, “I just went out and bought the sooper-dooper laser guided feather touch titanium mouse and bottle washer”, someone would come by and say that I should have bought the mother -o- pearl ballistic x-ray mouse instead.

I jsut want a new pointing device.

I keep seeing ads for “4D” mice. What, do they move back and forth through time at my command? I could use something like that.

Has anyone tried the “wearable” mouse that fits on your fingers?

I’ve got one of those. If you assume the “D” stands for “directional”, then it makes sense. Basically, it has two scrollwheels–one for vertical scrollbars, and one for horizontal. It may sound excessive, but once you get used to it, you’ll wonder how you got along without.

If you have trouble with mice, you may want to check out the Renaissance mouse. Basically, it’s shaped like a joystick, so you can keep your wrist in a neutral position while you use your mouse.

I am more than passingly fond of my Logitech Marble Mouse. It’s kind of a hybrid between trackball and mouse; very comfortable, very precise.

Optical mouse, very good, no balls to clean, OG like.

I love my Wacom Graphire2 pen and mouse tablet. The mouse is cordless, but it’s “powered” by the tablet, so no batteries or charging.

There are also mice around now that are “tactile” or something - I think they can vibrate/move slightly so you can “feel” the edge of a window as you go over it, something like that. I would hate that, but for blind/partially sighted people it could be a revolutionary thing.

Same as Mangetout, get an optical mouse!

why not try something like this ?
