These boards at times suck. Everybody knows that and there is no use in denying it. Everything and everybody does at one time or another. And I like the Straight Dope column. Alot. But that’s all it is to me - just another column, albeit a very interesting one, in a local alternative newspaper. And I was never around in the AOL days as I was too busy being homeless and happy and computer literate. So I might be missing some worthwhile component/side to the look and feel of the SDMB, including the Cecil Adams is God phenomenon. But a mindless idol worshipping fool I am not. I understand reverence. I do understand respect. And yes, to me Cecil Adams is just another human being on the face of this planet. But perhaps he is special. And I have never met the man face to face so it would definitely be beyond foolishness to speculate about the man and his motives. I guess that is my loss.
