i think i bought the wrong kind of tequila so im just wondering
There’s such a thing as non-alcoholic tequila?
Yeah, I don’t think there’s non-alcoholic tequila. If you want virgin margaritas, just pour the mix over ice (or toss it in a blender with ice) and it’ll be fine. You’re not going to get that tequila taste, other than that it’ll be fine. If you’re really worried about that [the tequila taste] you could probably go to a baking supply store and pick up tequila flavoring but it’s probably not worth the effort.
What are you trying to accomplish?
im getting more of the tequila flavor then i am the mango flavor in the margerita
the tequila i bought was el jimador anejo tequila and the margerita mix i bought was jose cuervo’s mango margerita mix.im just wondering if i should of bought another kind of tequila like el jimador’s blanco or a tequila that isnt 100 percent agave
First, if I’m just using some cheap margarita mix, I just use cheapo Jose Cuervo Gold. I like tequila, but there’s no reason to spend a ton of money when it’s all getting overpowered by the mix.
Second, if you’re getting too much tequila flavor, use less tequila. I don’t know if you’re a tequila drinker or not, but unlike, say vodka, tequila imparts not just a booze taste but also it’s own sweet tequila flavor, if you don’t like that flavor it and you don’t like the alcoholy flavor the difference between ‘goes down easy’ and ‘eww nasty’ is about one glug.
Make another drink, start with way less and add more. Keep adding until you can barely taste it, then stop. If you use too much you won’t enjoy the drink, then getting it down is work and all you’re doing is ‘getting drunk’ and you might as well be taking shots.
As you have more to drink, that night, you can tolerate a stiffer drink and as you get better at drinking, in life, you’ll be able to handle a stronger drink (and be able to appreciate tequila better).
Are you sure you meant to use the term non-alcoholic? As in, zero alcohol?
The margarita mix is non-alcoholic. What’s so confusing about that?
I interpret “for” in the title to mean “with.” As in, non-alcoholic mix + tequila, not alcholic mix + tequila, although I can’t remember ever seeing the latter.
Non-alcoholic normally means <= 0.5% ABV though.
OK. Well I remembered a very recent thread by the OP about tequila brands and here it is.
Here’s a nice margarita recipe:
