What's the best brand of stick-tack for posters?

When I was a kid we used this grey stuff that worked well, I got some generic blue brand sticky tack and my posters are falling off the wall. What is the best brand to get?

I suggest the 3M Command product designed for hanging posters.

Most things are only supposed to hold for a short time. Everything I have tried, if it held well, left a residue that was difficult to almost impossible to get off. Something that worked well on concrete block walls was hot glue guns. The glue held the poster up usually until you physically removed it. The glue stayed in a puddle on the wall easily removed by a putty knife. (The removal is the reason I wouldn’t recommend for drywall.)

Might be worth looking at 3M Poster Strips. I know the hooks work very well.

Push pins.

The tiny hole can be filled with toothpaste. Put a dab on your finger and rub it in.

Use a damp cloth to wipe off any that got on the wall.

But push pins are going to ruin my vintage Lamborghini posters.

I haven’t used sticky tack. It doesn’t mar the poster?

I used scotch tape one time. Never again. It won’t peel off without major damage to the poster.

It does, in my teenage experience. I don’t have any unframed posters now, so I haven’t tried the poster command strips. But they don’t damage the wall, I know, because I’ve used the command strips for hooks, I just don’t know if they damage posters. I imagine it can’t be as bad as the greasy stains on the corners you get over time from regular sticky-tack. I’d prefer thumb-tack holes to that.

Blu Tack!

It’s better than duct tape with its 1000s of uses.

Isn’t that what the OP described not working?

There’s a world of possible differences between “generic blue sticky tack” and actual brand name Blu-Tack.
