What's the best pizza in NYC?

Do you mean Not Ray’s Pizza on Fulton and S. Portland? I love that place!

And I can confirm ** King Rat’s** assertion that Ray’s on 6th Ave and 11th is no longer what it used to be. Somewhere in '97 or '98 is when the change occured.
I remember being surprised by the quality of the pizza at the Campus Cheatery. Though it’s not actually run by NYU, they are just the landlords. The color scheme and pandering to the students (they even accept the mealplan now, don’t they?) is just the result of their location.

Another vote for St. Marks. I used to eat there all the time - until last week, actually, when I moved uptown.

So does anyone know of any good pizza places in the Upper East Side, Hunter College area?

I hate rats.

What?

Feh.

If you don’t think Oriental chicken and cashews is pizza, don’t order it (I never ordered one with pineapple).

Order their regular slice. Thin and crispy. Just a little spicy. Perfect crust. Definately good. Definately pizza.

Unless you think an inch and a half of gloppy mozerella is what makes a pizza?

Two Boot is great.

Yep. When I only have $4 and feel like a slice I go to Jo’s, which is right around the corner from me in Brooklyn (Windsor Terrace, to be exact). My sister and I stumbled upon a great place in Fort Greene called Pipitone’s. I haven’t made it back there, but I keep hoping to. And tonight I had a pie from a place in Astoria called End of the Line Cafe (or something like that) that had huge slices of garlic on it. Not so great for the breath, but it was ** good**. Yum.

I still like The Original Famous Ray’s on 6th ave & 11th st. I used to go there in 1996, and I was just there and it’s still the same great pizza. But the best pizzas are really on Long Island (Raimo’s in Hicksville & Ralph’s in Port Washington). If you like pizza with thick crusts and thick cheese that is.
