What's the deal with all of those hubcaps leaning up agianst telephone poles?

A hubcap falls off of a car into the street. Someone finds it and moves it out of the street and leans it against the newest pole so that it’s easily visible if the owner goes to look for it.

I have done this myself.

e street lights just cycle on and off. It is normal. The phenomenon is a UL or pseudoscience.

To this day, there are several old bicycles around my town that have been locked to various things on the side of the road that have been sitting there for years.

When someone is killed in an accident on their bicycle, it has been customary for friends and loved ones of the deceased in recent decades to simply leave the bicycle locked at the location where the accident took place.

It’s like a memorial.

Yes, but also, some bikes get stripped of the good stuff by thieves and the lock is jammed, so the owner just gives up on it.
