Well, this was just a few years after renagade Masons supposedly whacked Robert Calvi in London. Very public hits tend to draw unwanted attention.

Part of me says that, for a secret organization bent on world domination, the Masons have a mighty high profile. 
The other part thinks the Shriners, with their fezzes and tiny motorcycles, are a bright and shiny bauble intended to distract us while they do their eeeeeeevil deeds in the background. :eek:
