Whats the difference between different PBS apps

Theres PBS passport, PBS documentaries, PBS masterpiece. PBS living. Probably others. Each one has a fee.

Whats the difference? Why doesn’t PBS just have one app that has all their shows on it? Are they redundant so that some cover some programs and not others?

Passport appears to be one of the benefits of supporting your local PBS station.

The others appear to be add-on on-demand channels available from Amazon Prime and Apple.

Can I use my Passport benefit on these on-demand channels offered by Amazon and Apple?

The Passport benefit is separate from these on-demand channels offered by Amazon Prime or Apple. If you wish to view Passport videos on PBS.org or through the PBS Video app, you must have the Passport benefit, acquired by supporting your local PBS station.

Likewise, subscribing to an on-demand channel such as Amazon Prime’s Masterpiece channel does not grant access to Passport-exclusive videos on PBS.org or the PBS Video app.

While some of the same content is available from PBS, Amazon, and Apple, these services are separate from one-another.
