What's the first thing to pop into you mind when you hear..

Soundtrack

Conti’s work on Rocky.

Titanic

Movie.

Purple Rain

Happy Feet, for obvious reasons.

For some reason I thought of the tin whistle intro to “My Heart Will Go On”. :dubious:

“Black Boys are Delicious, Candy Coated Fun” from Hair. I must use my out-loud, can’t-carry-a-tune-in-a-bucket voice, but I hear in my head an old friend’s voice singing it, and visualize a very young Nell Carter dancing.

No clue why, except maybe an inside joke/attempt to torment (which has become habit) a very close gay friend who dislikes musicals in general and hated Hair with a flaming purple passion. Who also is not black, nor has any particular interest in black men.

AFAIK, Maggie has never sang any part of that song in my presence, either. That particular line is simply the very first thing that pops into my head.

Moulin Rouge!

Eight-track. Dunno why.

Grease.

Edward Scissorhands and Temple of Doom.

I stopped questioning why I think this way a long time ago.

When will they release the score on CD?

Boobies, of course.

Grease, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Wizard of Oz, just movie musicals in general I guess.

The Sting and The Blues Brothers

Lord of the Rings, because I’m listening to it right now. Otherwise, probably Gladiator, which was the first soundtrack I really fell in love with – completely incidental to Russell Crowe, I swear. I guess the answer is historical/fantasy epics, especially when there are orchestras and choirs together.

Ultimate Electronics.

Electronics store around here that was “Soundtrack” from 1968 to about 1998. I worked there for 4-5 years.

Spamalot; most current for me

Xanadu.
