Mother…I mean Morricone!
Yup, me too. That’s the first album I ever bought with my very own money. The double-LP with all the neat photos inside. Made you feel as if you bought something special. Also got me interested in Classical music.
Dirty Dancing
I know, but it’s true.

A Clockwork Orange has always been my favorite soundtrack
Interesting replies.
I can’t remember if I had one in mind when I posted the OP, but I had just seen The Vikings so that may have been in the back of my mind.
Samson and Delilah with Victor Mature and Hedy Lamarr was the first soundtrack I/we ever owned. Mama bought a 33 1/3 version (10" record) before we even had a player to play it. I still have it. Them really – the record and our first 50’s vintage 3-speed hi-fi portable.
I’ve heard some jazz versions of Delilah’s Theme from time to time.
firstly the word ‘film’ and then a recollection of Simon Bate’s radio programme ‘Classic FM goes to the movies’ The first soundtrack i thought of was Titanic, see i’m not alone in that.
Apocalypse Now
Natural Born Killers

I wonder if anybody under the age of 40 doesn’t think of this whenever Ms. Lamarr’s name is spoken.
Just recently I saw for the first time the “scandalous” movie she made in the 30’s called Ecstasy. It wasn’t nearly as steamy as it was touted to be. Rather boring, actually. But in the late 40’s and early 50’s she may have been the most beautiful woman in movies. But as soon as Elizabeth Taylor arrived, Hedy got dropped down the list a bit.

“Sit down! Sit down! Sit down! You’re rocking the boat!” (It’s what was playing when I opened the thread.)
I hear the opening bars of the James Bond theme by Monty Norman.
