Whats the longest you've slept uninterrupted and what's the story behind it?

Just thought about this today…as I just woke up…

It’s been a long time. Back in the 60s probably. I had a 24-hour bug of some sort and slept around the clock with it. In the range of 24 hours. The best sleep ever for me. I actually saw total blackness instead of those little flashes of light I normally experience in sleep. I’d love another round of that but once appears to be it.

These days I’m lucky to sleep six hours in a row. When I do it’s usually on Sunday morning!

Probably around twenty hours - after a very trying time in my life was finally sorted out and I felt safe again.

20 hours this January when I was starting a bout of pneumonia.

Passed the 22/24 hour mark a few times.

As a child with a killer fever.
After having 4 wisdom teeth AND four molars all out at the same time.
After crunch time in college.
Once as ops manager for a just-starting-out (as in, watching it get built) restaurant.
During a sepsis infection - sleeping was the only time I didn’t feel like I was dying.

However, I regularly sleep 9-10 hours a night, and can easily hit 12-14 on the weekends without really trying, so i figure I’m just a sleeper in general.

Probably about the same - 24 hour-ish.

The one I directly recall was in the BWCA circa 1989. It’d been 40 degrees and raining heavily, we got soaked to the skin and I had severe hypothermia. I got stuffed into my sleeping bag and slept uninterrupted (very rare for me) for 16+ hours straight.

I don’t think I’ve ever slept more than 13 or 14 hours straight.

I couldn’t tell you the longest I’ve slept uninterrupted, but the longest I’ve been awake without any sleep is 3 days. I started hallucinating and what happened in the coming weeks is something I’ll never forget.

24 hours.

I’d been awake for 72.

If you allow me to ignore getting up to use the bathroom and then going right back to sleep: 18 hours. It was the worst flu ever, just a year ago. I spent three days sleeping well more than half the day.

Other than that… at about 10 hours, I’ll have to get up and use the bathroom, whether I go back to sleep or not.

24 hours, but I was sick, and I don’t think that counts. It also wasn’t really uninterrupted (woke up for a few minutes at a time to take more drugs or whatever).

15 hours of real, truly uninterrupted (not even to pee) sleep is my actual record. I’d been up for 50+ hours on a weekend puzzle hunt game.

13 hours, a couple times back in HS/college, after all-nighters where I stayed up most of the following day.

20-24. I wasn’t really paying attention and slept all but a few hours of a 2 1/2 day period before I could drag myself 2 miles across campus to the medical center.

I swallowed/inhaled some of the river through campus during springtime. It was before all the storm sewers upstream were separated so overflow went in the river. It was spring so there was a lot of overflow. No, it was not intentional. It was the unplanned result of a bit of ROTC training.

I literally swallowed shit. Thanks Army!

14 hours. I was ten years old, had been stung by a yellowjacket, and my mother gave me a (generous) dose of Benadryl.

Don’t any of you people ever have to pee?

Also 14 hours after taking 3 Benadryl. I’d eaten pizza for the last time and had developed hives everywhere, including in my mouth. When I woke up I felt better and swore to never eat pizza again I hadn’t made myself because apparently even the minute amount of sauce I hadn’t scraped off that last piece was more than enough to lead to misery.

NotherYinzer, if you go before you crawl into bed and aren’t drinking anything after that you don’t make much more pee.

Uninterrupted? Not sure if I too a pee or something in there, but 24 hours about 3 times in my life, due to illness.

My sleep schedule is very erratic. I will get crappy sleep for a few days then easily do 12-15 hours when I hit my groove.

I think it was 16 hours when I had a bad cold and probably hadn’t slept enough during the week. I woke up feeling fine, iirc.

20 or so hours, after my mother finally went home after a too long visit.

Ignoring one pee break, ~27 hours. I was freshly out of college, working a new job, and spending a lot of time out late at night with friends. One Friday, I was falling asleep at my desk, so I went home. I fell asleep in the middle of the living room floor, at around 4PM. My roommate came home, stepped over me, watched TV, and made dinner until I woke up and used the bathroom. I immediately retired to my bedroom, and didn’t get up again until 7PM Saturday. I’ve never felt so refreshed! (and hungry)
