What's the meaning of your userne?

Mine’s based off the concept of Magic The Gathering player archetypes - Power Player Timmy, Combo Player Johnny, Tournament Player Spike… Well, I’m Budget Player Cadet, because I’m broke as shit and can’t do shit because of that fact.

I was wanting to be Upper Kumbuckta West, but buggered up my original registration, so when it came to names it told me that UKW was already taken.

(Upper Kumbuckta West is a mythical town somewhere in regional Victoria, and hails from a popular TV program, Hey Hey it’s Saturday which graced our screens here from 1971 until 1999.)

kambuckta is probably about 28km south west of UKW.

Uh, people. You do realize, I hope, that explaining the hidden meanings of your usernames gives other people the power to take over your very souls?

Wouldn’t UKW be west of Upper Kambuckta? And wouldn’t that mean Upper Kambuckta was to the east of UKW?

Are the Gingers safe then?

In an online game, I tried to register as Draco, which was already taken. So I though “Draco I” would be a clever way to sound like an important king in the game. Unfortunately, the game said “Welcome, Dracoi” without giving me any warning that it was stripping out spaces and capitalization.

After that, I kind of got to like it. Nobody knows how to pronounce it, but one of the contenders is dray-koi. I happen to like koi and so that works too.

Mine is from Robert Anton Wilson. He refers to us as domesticated primates. Makes sence to me.

My first handle decades ago turned out to be somewhat popular as an actual name, so I needed something different. I wanted to peruse books of ancient legend for an impressive moniker… but who has time for that. One of the characters in some anime I was watching at the time says it for no reason in particular.

Amandeep is my name (pronounced uh-mun-deep, like peep), and I was born on a 27 date!

I have no clue where my name came from.

From 2003:

Back in the Commodore 64 BBS days I wrote a silly story about an old Cajun by this name. I had no idea for quite a while that there’s a song about the guy. No connection.

Because I’m excellent!

Mine started from a silly joke with Russian friends, then evolved into an even sillier joke with those same Russian friends.

Not being all that familiar with Canada or ice hockey, your post left me thinking ‘‘what the hell does that mean???’’. But I guess it’s ‘‘leaf fan’’, as in the Canadian maple leaf?

Just a shortening of my name. Easy to remember, and not quite so long.

Close. It’s the NHL team known as the Toronto Maple Leafs. Yes, that’s how they spell it.

As for mine, it’s named after the Star Trek character Zefram Cochrane.

Really, don’t.

I’m a Ford Mustang fan, and when I lived in San Francisco it was near the route of the famous car chase scene in the movie. The chase ended at the intersection of Guadalupe Canyon Parkway and Bayshore Boulevard, somewhat near Candlestick Park, and near the CalTrain tracks.

Richard Pearse possibly flew before the Wright Brothers, however it was probably not controlled enough and certainly not documented enough for him to get the credit they did. I’ll remember him for having a good crack at it.
