What's The Most You Ever Made For School (food)

I was watching an episode of a TV show and one of the characters had to make a thousand cupcakes for her daughter’s school

I was wondering to those parents who got stuck with similar things, what is the most quanity of a food you had to make for your child’s school?

If you don’t bake feel free to add what’s the most you PAID to pass off something you baked

Sort of for school, for daughter’s graduation I made 200 cupcakes from scratch. Plus 20 pounds of chicken salad, and lots of other munchies. It was a whole lot of prep work, but was much better than anything I could have gotten pre-made. (If I do say so myself.)

When I was in school, I once volunteered to make several pounds (pre-popped weight) of popcorn for our school fair, to be mixed with caramel corn stuff on-site. You really have no idea how much space popped corn that ends up taking. I remember we ended up lining several laundry baskets with aluminum foil or saran wrap (I think foil) and putting the corn in the baskets to get it to school. My mother was furious at me for volunteering. I was in 6th grade at the time and my thought was that I could do it on my own because we had an electric popper that I knew how to use. The logistics of transport were beyond my thinking.

In high school, we had a trip to Canada that we had to raise funds for. Over three days I made five 4 layer devils food cakes with seafoam icing. They were the hit of the bake sale and we were selling them for $1.50 a slice, 12 slices per cake. The first day I had also made snickerdoodles, but they weren’t quite as popular. I was just glad that we had two cake carriers and that I had a ride to school with a neighbor who was willing to help with transport then.

When the carpet rodents were in grade school, I once was roped into boiling and coloring eight dozen eggs for their school’s annual Easter egg hunt, back when we still celebrated non-inclusive holidays in public schools.

If I never boil more than six eggs at once again, I’ll die a happy woman. :stuck_out_tongue:
