What's the most you've eat in one sitting (and without throwing up)?

I was thinking about the most I’d ever had in one sitting the other day after ordering a large pizza from Dominos and eating half of it in one go. 4-5 hours later, hungry again, I ate all but one piece (which I had for breakfast the next morning).

But one large pizza in a day isn’t my record, it’s just what got me thinking about it.
I think the most I’d ever eaten in one sitting (without puking) was when I was about 17. I was 6’4 then and about 180 pounds. I remember a time my father and I went to a buffet (Old Country Buffet) and I went through about 8 plates that were pretty much filled. I remember I was very hungry that day for some reason. I don’t recall ever eating that much before or since.

In one sitting, somewhere between 4000-5000 calories of various foods. Normally I can’t get that much though, about 3000 is what fills me if I haven’t eaten in 12 hours or so. But sometimes I can put away more than that. My daily maintenance is about 4300/day. So roughly 100% of daily maintenance in one sitting. Which doesn’t sound too impressive to me considering all the competitive eaters who can put away 15000 calories in one sitting, about 6x their maintenance.

I was in my early 20s, and ate a fully-loaded large pizza and a half-gallon of ice cream. In those days, a half gallon was actually a half gallon. I’m amazed at the amount of food that can be shoveled into one’s stomach without bursting it.

Before we moved to Las Vegas and back when we came here as tourists, we thought it was the law that you HAD to try every single food item at every buffet.

Many a sad, slow walk away from a buffet, requiring naps and stomach pumps and reading material for lengthy toilet visits…

Since then, we have learned it is perfectly legal to select a few items and not fill our plate so full that we need a forklift to bring it back to the table.

gorging youself is thread worthy? ffs.

If you think the thread topic is dumb, avoid the thread.

Back when I weighed 140 lbs. at 5’11"" and ate one big meal per day, I would consume stupenduous amounts of food in one sitting. I once downed a 1 kg bag of fries and 30 fish sticks (total food mass 3.7 lbs.) plus drinks. On another occasion, I ate three large pizzas plus 1.5 liters of cola before resuming work. My standard in pizza buffets was to eat 25 - 30 slices of pizza plus drink la couple liters of soda. Now that I’m 60 lbs. heavier, I can’t eat or drink half that before I physically have to stop.

Moved Cafe Society --> IMHO.

Last year, I acquired a $20 Groupon for a local teriyaki place. I cashed it in alone for an early lunch one day, took my order home with me, and was determined to get the entire worth out of the Groupon and not have any leftovers because leftover teriyaki-place food is almost always not worth eating.

As such, I ended up consuming an order of chicken teriyaki, a scoop of rice, a California roll, five pieces of tuna and salmon nigiri, eight or so pieces of vegetable and prawn tempura, a side salad, three eggrolls, and five pieces of crab Rangoon.

I don’t think I even thought about eating again until lunchtime the following day.

I’m impressed by that. Three large pizzas is about 6000 calories, plus 1.5 liters of cola is another 600. For someone your (old) size that is pretty good.

I can put away 25-30 slices at a pizza buffet, but that is a place like Cici’s where the slices are small and only about 120 calories each. At a pizza buffet with larger slices (200-300 calories each) I can only put away 10-15.

When I was young and could get away with it, I went to the State Fair and ate, over the course of the afternoon, 6 Pronto Pups (along with the required allotment of mini-donuts and free milk, of course). I don’t know why I didn’t throw up. I didn’t even feel particularly overstuffed.

There’s this Asian Bistro next to this bar I used to drink at. They sell 4 eggrolls for a dollar. I went over there one night. All I wanted was 4 eggrolls. She said they were out, but if I bought $5 worth, she would make more.

So I went ahead and orders $5 worth. By night’s end, I managed to eat all 20 of them, The next morning, I wound up regretting it. All those eggrolls along with the copious amounts of alcohol, made me violently ill. I felt like I was going to die.

I think it took me an entire year before I would even THINK about eating another eggroll.

I once ate an entire jolly rancher in one sitting.

A lot. Large pizza plus 8 wings plus breadsticks, in an hour. I’m sure I once ate a 12-piece bucket of KFC, 2 biscuits, and a large potatoes and gravy and large mac and cheese, by myself. I used to occasionally get 2 Egg McMuffins, a Steak Bagel, a Bacon Egg and Cheese biscuit, and two hash browns for breakfast.

I don’t do that anymore.

Good Lord, I’m impressed, especially with the pizza stories. Nowadays I’m having trouble getting through my customary 2 slices in one sitting. I used to make fun of my grandparents for cooking one potato to share between the two of them and having leftovers, but at this rate I’ll be there by the time I’m 50.

I’m just amazed that there’s a “without throwing up” disclaimer. How many of y’all had to drop a claim or two once you considered the vomit limit?

ETA: I’m not thread-shitting; I eat as much as the next fat dude. I’m just kinda appalled eating till you puke needs to be actively excluded from the judging.

You pig!

When I was about 11 or 12, I think I drank almost an entire 2 liter bottle of Dr. Pepper within 2 hours. As you can imagine, I was bouncing off of walls.

It was probably the alcohol that did it.

Can’t think of any one time for me, but when I was a teenager, I could pack it away like nobody’s business (and I’m a woman).

This wasn’t me, but I’ll never forget when we took my mother out to her favorite buffet and she went, shall we say, a little apeshit, and somehow made it home. I heard the toilet automatically flushed. I’ve heard of bulimics setting out to do that when they found out you could, and nearly killing themselves in the process. And I consider something like that to be wasting food; feel free to disagree with me.

I once bought ten cheap tacos at Taco Bell (some kind of special) and ate them, one after another.
When I was 16, and we were traveling to Indianapolis by car, we stopped for breakfast at a diner in New Mexico; I ordered two (round) waffles. I didn’t know they were as big around as a vinyl LP record! But I ate them both anyway.
I feel full just talking about this.

A few times: 22 plates at a running sushi place + drinks. Another time at least 8 soft tacos (I lost count).

The 3 large pizzas and 25-30 slices are impressive.
