After reading the other thread, I realized what I wanted to know is which is the oldest commercial website? Does anyone know?
From: http://www.dejavu.org/
“In June, 1993 Digital Equipment Corporation opened the first commercial website.”
It was an ftp site and it’s actually still there.
ftp://gatekeeper.dec.com/
Umm…if it’s an FTP site, it ain’t a website. Sorry.
I don’t know the answer, though
It’s a web site that basically is a bunch of links to ftp downloads. An http server is hosting the page.

Speaking up *against[\i] myself, I’m with you Flymaster.
I guess technically speaking that should be called the first commercial Internet site.
Arjuna34, how can you tell that it’s being hosted by an http server? I can’t see any sign of http or HTML.
I’m still working on the “very first Website” question without much luck.
