what's the plot for the Matrix sequel?

I was wondering if anyone has an insight to the Matrix sequel coming out. Stuff like, “what is the oracle?” I have theorized that she is an agent that is a renegade. Anyone have an idea as to what the plot will be? It’s not to late to theorize, seeing as how it will come out in 2002. Pick your brains, rabid fans!

I didn’t really like the first Matrix that much, so no point in asking me. Nobody actually knows, just yet, what it is going to be about. It’s a closely guarded secret. All I know is filming will be starting this year, as it is planned to be out next year.

The idea of the Oracle being a benevalent AI occurred to me as well, though I have no idea whether the next movie will talk about it.
Since they said that she’s very old, and has been with them since the beginning, it seems to fit.
She’s not an Agent though. Agents are specific to their matrix policing function. That’s what Smith was all about. He was trapped in the matrix until the resistance was crushed. He wanted the release of his termination.

I wonder if Agents Smith, Brown, and Jones will be in the next movie. If it’s a prequel, all three could be, if it’s a sequel, then Smith at least is probably out. At least, the same instance of him.

DOES IT MATTER?

No really. As a huge Matrix fan who bought extra copies of its DVD, I don’t really care. I’ll be the one camped out in front of the theater. Woo hoo! Or erm… “Whoa.”

Whatever it is, I’d bet that it involves Keanu Reeves emoting blankly confused amazement.

In the opening scene of Matrix 2, Neo wakes up and realizes that everything that happened to him in the first movie was just a dream. The world of 1999 really does exist, there are no computers controlling the human race, Morpheus and Trinity are just figments of his imagination, and he’s just a second-rate computer programmer who ate too much pizza and corn chips before falling asleep. Keanu Reeves expresses the emotional turbulence of this realization with a long drawn-out “whooooooa”.

Not that all the wiseacre responses don’t make me smile, but here’s an actual useful bit of information.

For the inside, unfiltered dope on all the big movies coming out, go to Corona Coming Attractions:

http://corona.bc.ca

Lots of movie sites collect scoops on upcoming flicks, notably Ain’t It Cool News and Dark Horizons (and including my own – see sig), but Corona is by far the best. If you wanna see what’s going on in the world of The Matrix, go there first.

Neo is disturbed and others go insane as the Matrix in brought down for eight hours on a Friday night.

Once brought back on line, Neo struggles with new Forum Rules and begins a resistance movement aimed at ridding the matrix of the new multi-colored, moving, shadowed, “kinda three-d” smilies.

He loses. Dopers rejoice. Chief skulks off…
