An honourable mention for Spoorloos, a 1988 Dutch movie that was remade into the American The Vanishing in 1993.
Based on the same screenplay, but with a completely pussified ending for the American version. But it’s foreign, so it don’t count, right?
I sometimes wonder whether Guy Ritchie’s entire career isn’t based on remaking Lock, Stock etc….
Since Guy Ritchie’s made so many movies since Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, right?

The shortest I come up with is a remake of a western. Night Riders 1939/Arizona Terrors 1942, and City Limits 1934/ Father Steps Out 1941.
Two films can be a career. He certainly seems to be milking it like that (although, FWIW, I did enjoy them).
