Limit the power of the Federal Government. Push as much responsibility down to the local level where it can be seen and managed. California alone has a larger GDP than most of the world’s nations - let California experiment with a single payer option. Let the grand state-by-state experiment continue, do not try to solve all problems from Washington. We are a Union of States, our Constitution is based on that - we need to stop trying to solve everything from DC.
Government is a necessary evil, and must be kept constrained.
Democracy is a necessary evil, and must be kept from acting too fast on any given topic.
Corporations are a necessary evil, and require regulatory limits.
As for the Left:
- Grow a set and stand up and fight. You are letting us win.
- Learn to market yourself. The people are idiots. Half of them are at IQ 100 or below (by definition). Learn to take your issues and boil them down to bumper stickers that drive action.
You were getting there with health care, but then you started to blow it.
You used to be anti-war, now you have caved again with your party in office.
You were going to stop the secret police, but your man in office is still running with wiretaps, etc.
Come on - you are better than this. You have one more year to hold power, then you run the risk of losing your majority power. Get your shit together and try to pass something real, and do it in a way that the average IQ 100 high school graduate American understands, accepts and supports.
