What's This Style of Blueprint Called?

And can anyone point me to a better example of it? The closest example I can find is this. The kind I’m looking for, however, has a view of the seats in the vehicle, a human figure in the drivers seat, as well as a shaded representation of the powertrain.

If it was a building it would be called an elevation.

If you want cut-aways, those are just called sections or cross-sections.

The example in your link is a “three-view”. You’re looking for a “cutaway view”.

I think you are thinking of a section view.

Thanks, but those are way too detailed. What I’m looking for is the same kind of simple line drawing as in the illustration I linked to, with a couple more elements added to it. I’m not wanting detailed views of any of the components, just things which suggest them.

Ah, that would be an “artist’s conception”, then.

Here, vehicle side view. Or something like this, except a car not a boat.

Searching for “cutaway” gave me this.

Seems like sometimes, in the ones I’ve seen, the human figures look like crash dummies or those wooden figures used in art class.

That’s almost exactly what I’m looking for. Other than the human figure being a bit too detailed, it’s it (certainly close enough for my purposes). Thanks.

It’s kinda similar to patent drawings, which I believe are referred to as simply line drawings.

Edit: I saw you already mentioned it and called it “simple line drawings.” Oh well, I’ll second that. :smack:

YVW, I think I know exactly the drawing you mean, with the powertrain shaded in and all. I just couldn’t find a good example of it.
