The Al Pacino version. I can only find it used. Has it been withdrawn from release? Is the anniversary coming up and they wanna soak us? Am I looking in the wrong places?
Have you tried looking for it in nearly any of the rock stars and rappers homes they show on MTV’s “Cribs”? You’ll find it there.
-Yes-, it is out of print. -No-, we can’t get it for you. Because, like we said, it’s out of print. The 25th anniversary of the movie will be coming up this year, however, which may indicate a collector’s edition.
If you ask one of my coworkers if we have Scarface on DVD after I told you that, I’m totally in the wrong forum to discuss it. 
It really is a good movie. I hate that it’s become so cliche for 13 year old skateboarders to wear Scarface shirts…etc.
Biggirl - I think they recently put out a special edition if I’m not mistaken. Try looking at Blockbuster, I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it there (they seem to be trying to push sales more than rentals these days.)
Here is an Amazon link that says it ships in 1-3 days, but here is the page before that that says it’s out of stock. Maybe you could try ordering it and see what happens? Can’t hurt to try.
And this year is the 20th anniversary, not the 25th.
I was at Amazon yesterday and they only have used ones. If they’ve come out with an anniversary edition they’re being really secretive about it.
does anyone know why it’s oop? i can think of a lot of crap that is still in print. don’t tell me that it didn’t have a market…
They probably threw out a crappy version just to get it out. I’m hoping they’ll come out with a cleaner looking version. One neat thing they’ll never put on it: on screen counter indicating the number of times “f*ck” or its variants is said. 
Oops - you’re right, 20th anniversary. But it’s definately out of print. It’s our most popular question at Suncoast, and I can tell a mile away when you’re fixing to ask it. (And then turn around and ask a male associate because you don’t believe me.) I groan every time I see it on Cribs.
Somebody should write Universal and find out what’s up with this DVD. Somebody should. Ayeup. Somebody. . .
Is there a contractual/legal dispute for this being out of print? That’s often the case when a popular work is unavailable.
Universal might have a re-issue coming out soon. The current out of print DVD is of completely awful quality, like Warner Brother’s original “Unforgiven” DVD.
A top-notch anamorphic version has been released in Region 2 and Region 4, however.
