I got the x2 modem before v90 was out, and upgraded to v90 when that became available. Have I mentioned how tall that horse is?
(Oh, and our ISP had x2 connects months before it had flex. In fact, I think they got flex and v90 about the same time.)
I know about cable modems, ASDL, SDSL, and ISDN. I have looked into all of them. Currently, there are 3 providers of DSL service in my area, but the cable modem is actually faster. ASDL has a great downstream but a slow upstream. As I run a large website, do web design for other people, and run a cam which is constantly uploading, I require a decent upstream.
Let’s compare:
ADSL in my price range ($50/month,$200-$500 setup ): 640kbps down/90 kbps up
SDSL ($149/month, $1000 setup): 192kbps up/down
Cable modem ($50/month, $99 setup): 1.5mps down/192kbps up
Trust me, I’ve researched all of this. In fact, before Bell Atlantic screwed us out of wiring (til next quarter) we were going to get SDSL and run our server from home. Now, we’re doing co-location hosting for $250/month. Much faster than the SDSL and they do all our DNS, which is nice.

To the comment that the artist made “that magazines don’t make you feel ugly” I am sorry but I disagree very strongly. I happen to have alot of friends who have a low self esteem because of the Bullshit that media put’s out there for men and woman alike to see and judge themselves apon. I know people who feel like crap when they go clothing shopping. Because they have to hear stupid little tarts out there who weigh 95 pounds maybe 110 when soaking wet asking their friends wether or not they are FAT!
I don’t mean to rag on you but maybe you should become a little more sensitive when it comes to those individuals out there who by whatever genetic coding happening to come out not looking like some airbrushed model out of one of them there skin books.

I am a member of the Gay Community (drumroll), where waistlines are small and standards are fierce. I also happen to have a build which can best be described as unpreposessing. Fortunately, I also have the skill to dress in an alluring fashion. This does not include wearing clothes that permit my weight to be estimated to the nearest pound. I like my body, and what is more, I know how to dress in order to make other people like it too. This is a good thing.
