A month or so ago, I realized that I wasn’t getting the usual notifications about threads I was subscribed to. I went to my CP and checked: they were all set for instant notification. A few days ago, I tried unchecking a bunch of threads, then rechecking them. Nothing happened.
I thought about starting a thread here asking what was going on, but didn’t get around to it.
Then a few minutes ago, I started getting them again. I hadn’t done anything.
Was it a system-wide problem? I didn’t see any other posts here about it. Just my account? If so, why, and why did it “fix itself”?
I don’t know who your email provider is, but there was a SDMB issue with my provider that started about a month ago and just now has been resolved. I had over 100 emails all of a sudden.
That’s usually how it happens; there’s not email for a while and all of a sudden there’s stacks of it.
As someone who also got a ton of notifications in a pile, I feel your pain.
Not sure why it’s fixed now when it wasn’t working before – sometimes it takes some sort of action from way over on the server side. Maybe that’s what happened here.
