I get the sense that she was chiefly upset by the various blood-curdling incitements to murder posted as quotes from certain Muslim clerics and a “martyr”, i.e. "Following are excerpts from a sermon given Friday, October 13, in the Zayed bin Sultan Aal Nahyan mosque in Gaza, broadcast live on the official Palestinian Authority television. The speaker is Dr. Ahmad Abu Halabiya, Member of the PA appointed “Futwa Council” and former acting Rector of the Islamic University in Gaza:
Quote:
“Have no mercy on the Jews, no matter where they are, in any country. Fight them, wherever you are. Wherever you meet them, kill them. Wherever you are, kill those Jews and those Americans who are like them – and those who stand by them - they are all in one trench, against the Arabs and the Muslims – because they established Israel here, in the beating heart of the Arab world, in Palestine.”
It is not clear to me who, if anyone actually posting in the thread Eve sees as promulgating anti-Jewish sentiment. She does say that she is not singling out anyone in the thread.
I personally don’t feel that one person doing something makes that a stereotype.
I haven’t come across any (non Zionist) person here making the general claim that Zionists will call anti-Zionists anti-Semites.
I have only come across one (Zionist) person here making/inferring the claim that anti-Zionists are anti-Semites.
And I don’t feel that’s it’s particularly hateful. There are so many, many more worse, wicked thing that are/can be said about Jewish people or any other racial/religious/ethnic group, that this one weighs pretty low on my hate-o-meter.
Besides, those Zionists that do fit this supposed stereotype (which I personally feel is not a stereotype but a few isolated unfortunate examples, ditto black people and the “race card”) are just as reprehensible and damaging to their case than anti-Zionists that claim all Zionists use the anti-Semite card.
