This ad seems like a descendant of the “Nothing To Justify” campaign from fifteen years ago:

*Television spots show thirtysomething women enjoying Diet Coke as they enjoy life: on their own terms and without answering to anybody.

The campaign grew out of the insight that women make up the majority of Diet Coke drinkers, but not for the reasons you might think. Research showed that rather than treating Diet Coke as a low-calorie alternative, women just plain like the taste of Diet Coke. *

Not a commercial, but commonly seen, and related, is pictures of women all eating salads and all laughing it up. There is nothing funny about salad, so why are women laughing in the pictures? They are just overjoyed with the taste of lettuce and salad dressing?

This is the true evil. We lie to ourselves, we believe the lies others tell us, but sometimes we witness someone else being lied to and it’s so obvious and rankling.

I believe I read that Coke’s sales are going down and down as more information on the harmful effects of soda come out. They are moving into flavored water and other drinks - juice drinks, plain water - besides Coke or Diet Coke or any variation. It won’t disappear, of course, there are still millions worldwide who consider it a tasty treat. In Africa, drinking soda is safer than drinking the water there.
