What's wrong with Cuba

OK, I was being unfair, but I just hate coming up against a brick wall of governmental dogma about other countries. Ironic that here I’m suddenly playing devil’s advocate for Communism :smiley:

My point was not that Cuba would suddenly become the next silicon valley if the sanctions were lifted. I just don’t think it’s possible to impose democracy, or any other type of government for that matter, on a country that does not want to accept it.

Suddenly installing some sort of election system in Cuba would solve nothing, but instead create internal conflict in a country not used to this process. We have seen this happen countless times with other so called “new democracies”. It’s something which I’m not sure they need in these fragile economic times, but I’m not sying I’m convinced one way or the other on the matter.
