So I bought this microwave about a month ago, Sunbeam SGB8901 if it matters, new at Target. Tonight, it started being problematic. While cooking, the turntable, I think it was, started making a very weird noise, like brrrrr! and it just got louder and louder, like it was going to explode, take flight, or give birth, but then it just shut down. Like it was unplugged, no function or lights or activity at all. Then after a short while, it beeped and came back to life. Since then, it works, but same scary noise. It does seem to be the turntable, although it does still turn.
I didn’t keep the box or receipt, because, let’s face it, who would think they’d get a defective microwave??:smack:
Even without the box? And aren’t electronics non-returnable at the store? I don’t know, just asking. I do plan on contacting Sunbeam for help if I can’t get it figured out- I just thought maybe someone would know a quick fix, or at least, I was hoping against hope.
Target will let you return/exchange without a receipt if you used a credit or debit card, check, or gift card; they’ll look up the transaction in their system. You won’t get a refund without the packaging, but they’re pretty lenient on exchanges. I’m pretty sure they can just give you the unit and keep the packaging to send back the defective one.
