What's your area of expertise?

In other words, what type of question or questions do you feel most comfortable answering in General Questions?
I have some knowledge of the Irish language, Irish and European history, digital audio, pop trivia, and that’s about it. I don’t really think I’m an expert in anything although I’m studying how people use computer technology in their music.

Chess

I know a lot about ferrets and I love to read about ancient civilizations (although this is more of a hobby, I am no expert). I’m a decent cook and my friends tell me that I give good advice. I am better with animals than people and want to work with animals professionally. I can’t think of anything else, which is too bad since none of this sounds too impressive.

Ferrets here, also.
Hedge Fund industry, especially operations.
Advanced investment performance measurement.

Yeah, I don’t get too much call to answer questions in GQ.

Quilting, old school, dawg.

Military history, mostly modern but I enjoy almost any period.

Military engineering and weapons technology

Telecommunications infrastructure, both wired and wireless. Hey, it’s a fun job.

I’m afraid to claim gaming expertise these days; I started with the original 3 book D&D and even played with Gary Gygax once. Not sure I can keep up with all the varieties of gaming these days.

Science fiction and fantasy novels. I read a lot. My mother was a librarian; what can I say.

I do love to cook, and am a tremendous food geek. I find I post about this more than anything.

Anything to do with UPS and/or shipping companies in general.
And… um… the Wii. That’s about it.

Lame attempts at wit and humor.

Biomedical research. Especially animal use and lab management.

Palynology - the study of fossil pollen to recreate past atmospheres and vegetation.

Ok, I’m joking. The real answer is ‘Beer’.

Photography

Some construction, mostly home remodel and painting

The Bible

Star Trek and some general Sci-Fi

I know a bit about the “coin” industry, having been a professional coin dealer for 36 years.

I have an amateur interest in tracking down things that happened in the past, so much so that I subscribe to online historic newspaper databases.

Etymology and word origins.

I can tell you quite a lot about all things Star Trek.
I can also tell about being a college English professor and essay assessment specialist, as well as tell you a thing or two about Jonathan Swift.
I know more than I should about casinos, and a fair amount about spas.

NCB, are you back among us regularly now?

I know a fair amount about a lot of crap, but the only thing I can answer with the hint of expertise is probably film or music type of questions.

Food.

I have lots of general bits of knowledge about lots of other things, and my husband calls me a walking imdb.com. But the only thing I actually feel arrogant about is food and my ability to cook just about anything. If you don’t think it’s true, feel free to come over and test me.

Rabbits - I raised and showed them for a few years. It doesn’t come up much. I know a fair bit about the food animal industry and food animal biology from 2 years studying animal science. I could rate the comfort levels of sleeping in various D-1 university gymnasiums, if pressed to. That doesn’t come up a lot either.

Computers and technology – old and new. I’m a geek.

Benefits questions.

Japanese language and culture. Anime and manga, particularly Dragon Ball Z. Videogames. Christian apologetics. Internet culture (all your base, 1337 sp33k, etc).

Ummm… that’s about it. Oh, almost forgot sushi. Cook it, eat it, history of it, I can talk about it.
