What brand is the toilet? Same question about the hanging sink vanity?
I need to buy the next round of parts for my down to studs (actually more than that since I moved walls) remodel. My sink vanity will only by 4’ wide and I like the looks of the Ikea hanging vanity…I’m just questioning the non-standard drain plumbing.
Thank you! I will endeavor to find the answers to those questions for you by Monday.
One thing about those cantilevered cabinets, though: they ain’t whistling Dixie about the reduced storage space. I’ve got a bunch of toiletries packed away in the closet which I guess I can either get along without, or allow them to remain in the closet forever. Could be a blessing in disguise.
I should’ve also mentioned: We are going from a small 3’x3’ enclosed shower stall to a 3’x6’ walk in shower with no door and we are also concerned about the lack of trapping heat. We live in the northern part of the US, so it’s about 6 months of the year we have cold. I will have the ability to put a glass door in later (I framed in the backing for it), but I really don’t want to have to do this. We shall see.
Well, I never did run across the paperwork for the cabinets, but the toilet is a Swiss Madison. (I got a chuckle out of that because it sounds a bit like Funk and Wagnalls, or at least could be used in the same sort of phrases. “Flush that down your Swiss Madison!”)
I think you’re probably going to wind up putting a door on your shower. Myself, I’m already wondering if I’m going to have to shower in the guest bathroom this winter. I’d like to see your project when it’s finished, if you feel like bumping the thread down the road…
When we remodeled our bath, we put slim upper cabinets on each side of the vanity. I can try to find a picture of what I’m talking about if anyone is interested. The vanity itself is wide – normal double-doored cabinet underneath, flanked by a drawer unit on each side. The upper cabinets are not as deep as the vanity, and sit on it. This is where we store our electric stuff.
Most importantly, we had outlets put in inside the upper cabinet. Toothbrushes, razors, etc. can recharge without taking up any counter space.
