I think BOTTOM and KYTV have not been mentioned yet. Bottom stars two of the Young ones cast in roles of absolute losers. It is hilarious, rude and disgusting and I love it. KYTV, starring Angus Deaton of Have I got News for You fame, is a delightful parody on commercial TV channels like SKY TV.

Honourable mentions for The good life, Allo allo (they dragged it on too much), The vicar of Dibley, Not the 9 o’clock news, Alas Smith and Jones, Mr Bean, A bit of Fry and Laurie, Alexei Sayle.

Shows like On the buses, Keeping up appearances and Are you being served (did someone mention Benny Hill?) do not hold much interest for me.

Perhaps the most striking thing is that the above 10 would also head my list of world-wide comedy - no USA product comes even close to these. IMHO…
