While Temple of Doom still places a distant 3rd, I did enjoy the entire nightclub scene at the first of the movie. That is until they fall into Short Round’s car. The jumping out of the airplane with the inflatable raft scene was trash and the movie went downhill from then on.
Last Crusade is my favorite, followed by Raiders of the Lost Ark, and I do my best not to acknowledge the existence of any third movie in that trilogy.
LC is my favorite because of the history it shows…like a lot of other people have said, I think it helps to illuminate several aspect of Indiana’s character.
RotLA…eh, I’ll be honest…the melting faces freaked me out when I was a kid…so that detracts from the film a bit. But just overall, I don’t think the action and plot are as good.
As for a third movie…shudder, that also freaked me out when I was a kid. I was about 4 when I saw it and seeing someone tear the heart out of a man was a bit much for me… but otherwise, the cult-thingy just didn’t make as much sense as a good villain, imo. I like a nice, strong villain who’s trying to take over the world…not some cult that lives in a cave…
