What's your favorite "local" soda?

Thomas Kemper, Henry Weinhardt, and JONES, baby!

Northern Neck Ginger Ale

Al-8-1! (Pop a top off fun.) Kentucky’s finest in spiced-up ginger ale. Hated or loved by everyone.

That should be Ale-8-1. Al has not, to my knowledge, eaten one.

Beat me to it. Good ol’ Winchester Swamp Water. Did you know they make Diet Ale-8 now?

Stewart’s. Their root beer is my favorite, and the Orange and Cream is pretty damn good, too. I also enjoy the Cream Soda and Strawberries and Cream. Nit the Key lime, though…that’s nasty.

I love Jones! Especially the Strawberry Limeade.

A really local concoction here in Ohio is a soda called SKI. I love Ski pop. Very hard to find though.

I also enjoy Stewarts, and have had all of their flavors. I don’t know about the rest of you guys, but anytime I’m at the store, I am always on the lookout for a new soda to try.

Hansen’s diet sodas are my favorite! Before the no-sugar clause in my diet I also liked Blue Sky sodas, especially the cherry vanilla.

In the DC area, we have a locally made root beer from Old Dominion Brewing Company , who by the way also makes excellent local beer.

Folks, it’s Tahitian Treat.

And if you want to appear all sophisticated like, you pronounce it:

I miss my local sodas of the seventies. Worms was wonderful, as was Purple Passion.

Jarrito - the tamarind flavor. (Incidentally, aren’t tamarinds tiny monkeys? I swear I’ve seen them at the zoo.) So good.

I’m not sure if Jones Soda is regional or nationwide, but they have some very good flavors too.

New York Seltzers. But I haven’t been on any treasure hunts lately.

RC Cola and Diet Rite Cola are my favorite locals. That Diet Rite White Grape Soda is addictive. The Tangerine flavor is too. Add a Moon Pie and you got a southern treat beyond compare!

Just popping back in to say I would be remiss if I failed to mention the cola delicacys that are Double Cola and Ski. Chattanooga’s finest!

Have you ever tried it? I’ve seen it, but I’m not one to enjoy diet sodas, so I’ve never given it a whirl. I"m actually drinking an Ale-8 now. Great stuff.

Blenheim Ginger Ale made by the Schaefer family. The same Schaefers who own “South Of The Border” on I-95. Man, the red cap variety is strong enough to peel paint and I’ve seen many people start to cough violently just from bringing the bottle close to their lips.

I was so happy when I found a gourmet store down here that carries it.

LOL - yes, tamarinds are both a monkey and a tangy treat:

The Tamarind Monkey

The Tamarind Pod
Seriously, though - doesn’t the latter look like something that came out of the former?

I prefer Fresca. Don’t how easy it is to find elsewhere but it can be hard here.

Best diet soda ever.

Somehow it was more exciting when I thought I was drinking monkey-flavored soda.

sigh

Thums Up (I think they changed the recipe at some point, though)
Mangola
& Limca

There used to be a vile Pine Needles soda I used to patronize during college. Went well on the alcohol table with Skye Vodka, Maison du Cochon wines & the Apple Vermouth we used to keep around for hooker cocktails (apple vermouth with white soda with a maraschino cherry)
