Favorite is probably Across the Sea…I like the opening melody.
But my favorite Weezer moment is the bridge on Surf Wax America. The word “undertow” has always had a mystical quality for me, and the first hundred times I heard the song, that part always gave me chills.
Side note about For No One Else…a friend pointed out how so much of the Blue Album sounds like the Cars (no coincidence, I’m sure, as Rick Ocasek produced it). Listen to that song again with this in mind…you will realize that it is a Cars song through and through.
Oo! Oo! And the “Heartbeat, heartbeat” part of “Holiday.”
