Yea, but (unfortunately), in the USA if you dont hyphenate your last names, they call you by your second last name. I had always just put a space between the last names, but when I started writing the college applications, I noticed it was better to hyphenate them. Otherwise, instead of being Frontera Acevedo, I was called Ms. Acevedo. Yea, I have some unusual last names.
Benjamin Michael Childs-Sherman-Flowers-Bueschen
A little bit of English and German mix.
Sandy-Lund-Kranz-Mayavski
That’s Polish (nee Sandowski), Swedish, Germna, and Polock again.
I would be Lane-King-Young-Cheek.
Sounds sort of Asian if you say it quickly.
On a side note, my last name is none of the above. Go figure.
I would be…
Sarah Coursey-Schoene-Reinsfelder-Kashell
Pure German (it used to be die Courser, I believe, and Schoen means “beauty”) but I do have some Dutch, Irish, and African mixed in there somewhere.
I would rather have Schoene or Kashell as my last name, but I’m stuck with Coursey. Blah. People think I’m saying “Horsey,” and I have related scars from elementary school. Nothing like getting neighed at to blow a kid’s self-esteem.
I know an American whose name is this long:
Now, this might not surprise one if he were Welsh or Polish, perhaps, but damn! that’s a long name.
That’s funny… I’m Icelandic-English-Irish and we have always said that at family reunions we get drunk and beat each other up!
Jonssdottir-Palsson-Hall-Stephens
And my momma wanted to call me Gudbjorg…
Eulert-Weber-Lietz-Kasson
The middle two are pretty much German, but the first, while coming from a German family, is found on both sides of the border between France and Germany. Number 4 may have at one time been French, as family history says the original Kassons came from France following the St. Bartholomew’s Day massacre. Lived in the north of Ireland for a generation, then came to the American colonies in 1722. So it is really American by now.
I don’t know my paternal grandmother’s maiden name, so I’m Doughty-Prieb-Dolan. That’s English/German/Irish, but mostly Irish. Actually, I only know my mother’s side of the family, which is extremely Irish.
Oh boy, is mine interesting!
It’s Robertson-Hanniver-Wilton-Turner
That’s Scottish-English-English-English!
I’m 1/16th German, the rest is all from the UK.
Biggus Dickus.
I have a wife, you know…
I don’t know the name of one of my grandfathers so I’ll take the OP to it’s logical conclusion and honor all my known ancestors. For simplicity I’ll do it alphabetically
Just call me Mr. Adams-Bakic-Barlowe-Bates-Beauchamp-Bennett-Berkeley-Bourla-Bozman-Bruton-Cade-Capalbo-Casteel-Chambers-Clarke-Colby-Coles-Crew-Cruse-Daux-De La Fountaine-Dennis-Dixon-Felton-Ford-Fountain-Franer-Freeman-Gibbs-Haas-Johnson-Jones-Kapsa-Key-Kolb-Korman-Korsey-Mangarelli-McClendon-McElroy-Mempol-Meredith-Nappa-Neale-Nubulian-Owen-Palmer-Parker-Ramey-Ravas-Risden-Rishton-Simoncic-Smith-Tandy-Taylor-Townsend-Truitt-Turner-Waller-Watson-Watts-West-White-Williams-Wilson-Witt
And if you can say that in one breath congrats.
