Were too? All those places were part of the Persian Empire at some point, even if nowadays we don’t tend to associate them with Persia/Iran.
So in punning about Rome, you would give points to a reference to the First Dynasty of Egypt, because at some point Italy and Egypt were part of the Roman Empire, even though the First Dynasty was 3,000 years before the Romans conquered Egypt? Or you would accept a reference to Stonehenge, even though it was completed some 2,500 years before the Romans conquered Britain?

Whenever I see the title of this thread, I think of the Prince song “Darling Nikki.” But, then, that song definitely would have ticked off the OP, because it’s not just “semi-pornographical,” it’s full-on pornographical.

If my sources, yeah, that seems right, sources are telling me the truth, Russian pornographs supply about half the young ladies that can be seen ‘acting’ at different places around the web. Since I haven’t got a cite to share, you’ll just have to trust my source.
Now - Russian phonographs on the other hand are quite scarce. I don’t think the electronics Industry’s main goal in the USSR was to create HiFi products.
