You’ve been served a salad. You have a choice of dressings. Which one do you choose?
(Rather than try to list every possibility, I’ve lumped them into broad categories.)

My choice is Green Goddess but I didn’t figure it would be popular enough to justify its own category.
I make ranch at home and use that.
Creamy Garlic.
At home, I use Fat Free Catalina dressing. When out, I’ll choose from what’s available, but I rarely choose French dressing because it just isn’t the same as Catalina.
I did a poll among my friends at one point and the result was overwhelmingly Thousand Island with Ranch a distant second. I was very disheartened at that news. my favorites are Balsamic Vinaigrette and Amy’s brand Goddess dressing.
I’m not fond of blue cheese, any of the others would be fine with me, but my go to is Russian.
Balsamic vinegar, olive oil and freshly-ground black pepper.
I prefer Italian, or even just oil and vinegar, but will use something else maybe 1/4 of the time. French or blue cheese are my following favorites.
I could really go for a Reuben. But that’s not an option, so – Thousand Island.
House.
I’ve never been disappointed.
There are several, but Thousand Island/Russian is my go to.
I can’t choose because I like most of them equally well. My choice is dependent on accompanying entree and my mood.
If I had to pick a least favorite dressing…maybe honey mustard. But, I’m hesitant to single it out because I do like it once in a while, in a pinch…and I don’t want to hurt honey mustard’s feelings.
I’m with Tibby – depends on what is in the salad and what else (if anything) I’m eating with the salad. Sometimes I want the extra fat from a bleu cheese dressing, and sometimes not.
I love REAL bleu cheese. Also a good balsamic vinagarette. Ranch in a pinch.
I usually get a Caesar salad when it’s available, but several of the other choices are also possibilities, depending on my mood at the time.
Queso azul
I use some form of vinaigrette pretty much exclusively. I like the classic French vinaigrette, with Dijon, vinegar, olive oil, shallot, salt, pepper. I’ll take Italian if something simpler is not available (I don’t like the generic “Italian herbs & spices” in Italian salad dressing.) Beyond that, the only other one I might have is blue cheese if I’m having a wedge salad or something.
Diet anything. Especially thousand island
Entirely depends on the restaurant. Most places the choice is Thousand Island. High-end steakhouse the choice is Blue Cheese.
On the rare occasions I eat salad, I don’t put any type of dressing on them. For the most part I don’t understand people’s desire to put wet stuff on their food or put their food in wet stuff, so I don’t eat chips with dip or salsa, use steak sauce, or dip chicken nuggets/tenders in sauces either. Pretty much the only exceptions I make to this is nachos and Chinese style chicken fingers.
