Mostly I don’t care, if I’m getting it from Amazon. If I want a new Canon mirrorless camera, I’m getting it from Canon directly, or Adorama. Apple stuff from Apple. Printer paper? Amazon. Jean shorts? Who cares, it’s Amazon. Shrinkwrap tube? Amazon.
Mostly I worry about specs, and that’s where I start to research. Is this the correct ESP32 dev board? Does this litmus paper actually work? Does this culture actually produce cheddar cheese?
Basically, if something’s expensive, I don’t turn to Amazon.
I’m not so sure those Amazon “storefronts” have anything to do with the brand in the name. It seems to me that if you go to the Makita Store, for example, it might not be connected to the Makita corp. at all (other than the products shown on the store page all being apparently Makita).
I believe anyone selling anything can create a storefront which essentially is just a group of pictures and links to individual Makita (or counterfeit items labelled Makita) products offered by GenericChineseSeller or whoever. Consequently, I try to buy a product from the manufacturer’s actual site, not an Amazon Storefront that might be bogus.
I just tried to find out more about this but didn’t quickly find an answer so please note that I don’t know for sure how those “fronts” work.
