I can understand the basics on how life started with chemicals and then lightning blah blah blah and it made bacteria or whatever. But how did life jump from plants to animals? Are their any theories? Plants evolving into other plants and animals evoloving into other animals i can get. But dont plants have a differnt cell structure then animals with the cell wall?
*Did * life jump from plants to animals?
Only if you count fungi as plants: animals are more closely related to fungi than to plants.
The first organisms weren’t plants, they were bacteria. So animals didn’t evolve from plants or vice versa. Now, it does seem likely that all Eukaryotes share a common ancestry, but that doesn’t mean the first Eukaryotes were either animals or plants. There are lots of single celled Eukaryotes that act like animals but contain chloroplasts, the Euglena is the textbook example.
