When is the Internet not crowded?

I live in the Pacific time zone, in Southern California. Since we have the one phone line I try to get on the Internet, by Blue Light or AOL, at times when we’re not likely to use the phone or be called.
Anyway, I’d like to know if it matters: The Internet is surely used in other parts of the world; and, though right now I’m posting shortly after 5:30 a.m. local time, does it really make any difference?

The internet is always crowded. Your ISP (internet service provider) may not be as busy at certain hours depending on how big of company they are.

It varies from day to day and from hour to hour.

If you want to check out the general “health” of the internet, go to:

This will give you a good idea of the load and the amount of servers up and running correctly. (The main servers that direct traffic).

I thought they had shut the site down but thanks to Zyada, I have that site again!

Certain sites are probably busy mostly at night, or early in the morning, while others get about the same amount of traffic all day. Although the internet is worldwide, I’m pretty sure that the majority of internet users are in the United States. I’m usually online during the evenings or nights, therefore sites popular among people with my online habits will be busier at night. That would include any site geared toward teenagers, or anyone else who can’t use the internet during the day, and are online at night. So while the internet as a whole is probably crowded all the time, a particular site, or your particular ISP, as mentioned above, may not be.

Neat link. Thanks Techchick

For instance, last night at about 4-5:30 am (or this morning, perhaps) my browser had quite a bit of life to it.

Don’t forget the periodic Internet cleaning.

2nd Tues of every month, 2:15 to 3:45a.m. UT.

That’s when they strip and re-wax the nodes, right?
