When Poor Films Have Great Scores

In doing my classic movie reviews I came across a surprising one: Robot Monster, which has an Elmer Bernstein score, which is actually pretty good. At least compared to the movie, it is.

Star Crash had a score by John Barry, well up to his usual standard. (My understanding is that the director sucker-played Barry and Christopher Plummer by assuring each of them that the other was in the movie, indicating quality and serious intent.)

It’s a slider, but *Reanimator *has a score by Richard Band that is widely dismissed as a ripoff of “Psycho” - but I liked the title track so much I went and found the soundtrack LP.

Last of the Mohicans. I enjoyed the movie (many didn’t) but loved the soundtrack. Downloaded it, but some of the music in the movie was not present.
