When some animals are more equal than others.

That’s too bad, because being a “douchebag” by talking to a manager is the only way to get anything done in the vast majority of retail stores.

But hey, why get things done when you can get into a fight about it instead?

What in the world are you generally getting done that requires a manager?

The only managers I’ve ever had to interact with that I can remember off the top of my head are the people called over to do an override.

See:

Or just about any other problem that comes up in a retail transaction, ever. Pieces missing from the product? Damage? Math error? Member card issues? The manager was always the only person with the ability to fix any of that in any retail place I’ve worked at and most of the ones I’ve shopped at as well.

The manager is also the person who comps your meal if it was especially bad. There is definitely a time and place for talking to managers; the person you usually interact with is just a wage-slave peon with no power at all; the only person who might be able to help you if you have a problem is often the manager.

Sure, but I consider “getting anything done” at a retail establishment to be trouble-free 99.9% of the made-up statistic time.

I used to want to be in The Clique. Then somebody told me they hated me because I was in The Clique. And then somebody else told me everybody in The Clique hated me. Finally, I remembered I finished high school two thirds of my life ago so the whole thing was beyond silly.

That cracked me up.

Eureka, the mods secretly hate you.
