As it seems it must, they will call us monsters. They will show pictures of the enemy surrounded by women and children. We will tell them that war is coming, will tell them to deliver our enemy to us, and they will not listen. They will sit in their houses and bunkers, laughing, thinking that Americans won’t dare attack them when we know that the enemy has surrounded himself with women and children. They will call themselves “men.” Then they will hear the air raid sirens, and they will be afraid. As they hear the sounds of the anti-aircraft fire and the bombs going off, they will call us “cowards.” Then, as they themselves die, they will know that they are not men.
For men do not surround themselves with women and children when they know war is coming. Men do not force their women to be helpless and ignorant. Men do not say that they are doing God’s will when they kidnap women and children and use them to slaughter others. When war comes, men see to it that the women and children are protected from the enemy. If a woman chooses to fight, men respect that and hand her a weapon, but they do not force her to remain with them if she does not want to. Men do not wait for the enemy to bring the war to them. Men go out and fight the enemy wherever he may be found.
If we are men, we will not rejoice when we find that one of our bombs has missed its target and hit a civilian building. If we are men, we will shed a tear when we see the images of the innocents we’ve killed, and we will promise to do better next time. If we are men, we will not stop until our enemy has been delivered unto us. If we are men, we will rebuild the enemy’s nation once the war is over. If we are men, we will work to see that this never happens again. If we are men.
If we are men, we will not allow terror, destruction, and murder to go unpunished. They say they are men, and they say they want war. So let’s give them war. Let’s give them the war they’ve been aching for over the past several decades. Let’s give them their war, and just before we kill them, we’ll watch them piss in their pants.
They claim that the United States has killed their people and therefore they are justified in their false Jihad. They claim they are doing the work of Allah as they are required to by the Koran. They claim that they will be rewarded in Paradise for their actions by a grateful diety.
They are full of shit.
We must teach them what it means to be at war with the United States of America. We must crush any who are found responsible for this atrocity - whether they took part in the planning and implementation or they harbored and protected those who did. They must learn to fear the very thought of attacking this nation.
Their innocents, those who had no choice in the actions of their government or the actions of the virulent fanatics who carried out this act of war must learn as well. They must learn that American soldiers do not kill indiscriminately, that a civilized nation does not wage war on innocents. I have no doubt in my mind that these innocents are taught that they will be the first to die when the “great Satan” comes for the terrorists. I also have no doubt that civillian casualties will be horrendous because the terrorists and the corrupt will hide behind women and children, then decry the “evil” of our efforts.
I have no doubt that our soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines, as well as those of whatever allies become involved in this effort, will make us proud with their bravery and humanity. They will avoid the killing of innocents because it is the only way for civilized people to behave. This, too, will be a lesson we must teach.
Have no doubt, there will be hell to pay for those who committed this crime. But our military forces will do their best to unleash this hell on those who have earned it through their actions, not on the helpless.
Save the rhetoric-war is not some rite of passage. It’s a dirty, ugly job that makes killers out of everyone. I want some heads on pikes as much as anyone, but let’s not be in a rush to ‘shed a tear when we see the images of the innocents we’ve killed’.
Well, there’s evil (shakes head) and then there’s EVIL (nods head)!

Anyway, even the Prince of Darkness™ gets cheesed off when he hears dopey talk like this. Believe me, I’m all for some fun CNN footage of bin laden getting an American bullet thru his noggin, or Sadam getting a 21-gun enema if that’s what it takes. But when I hear creepy, pseudo-biblical quotes (‘we will not stop until our enemy has been delivered unto us.’) that become some kind of blood oath, it makes even My flesh crawl.
Of course, if we DO have a ‘christian’ holy war, that’ll be my cue to enter, stage left.
Just please, this time, don’t let the politicians or the UN tie the military’s hands. Let the military DEFEAT the enemy, completely and utterly.
Let’s have a declaration of war on these new Axis powers who hate all the things America stands for and harbor those who commit acts of war on her. Let’s get a group of Allies committed to the justice of our cause, and let’s get the job done. No more Vietnams, Koreas, or Gulf Wars. This time let’s keep going until we get unconditional surrender, like we did in WWII.
This woman will do whatever it takes to ensure a safe, peaceful, and free world for future generations.
It’s been a pet theory of mine for a while that the real reason women haven’t been allowed on the battlefield is because we’re meaner than the men. There is a reason that many of the battle deities are women (Freya, Kali, the Morrigan…).
There is no such thing as honor and glory, no fighting fair when babies are threatened.
