When *this* celebrity dies, *that* song will be played endlessly

Like Whitney Houston and IIIIIIIIIIIIIII will always love YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOU.

Bruce Springsteen–Born in the USA
Paul McCartney–Yesterday

Bono - One

Stevie Wonder - Superstition

For Wonder, I would go with “I Just Called to Say I Love You.”

Ringo Starr–Yellow Submarine (or maybe Drive My Car).

Tom Paxton should get “Rambling Boy,” but damn few people know he wrote this “Traditional Folk Song.”

Bob Dylan is a hard call–Either “Blowing in the Wind” or 'Like A Rolling Stone."

OTOH, every Rolling Stone will get “Satisfaction.”

Ringo didn’t sing on “Drive My Car”, so I don’t get the connection (other than the Beatles, of course.) I would guess that Ringo’s song, if not Yellow Submarine, will be 'With a Little Help from My Friends".

Ringo’s songs would probably be Photograph and It Don’t Come Easy.

I can’t really remember if anybody made much of it at the time but

Frank Sinatra (December 12, 1915 - May 14, 1998)

Had a hit with That’s Life and part of the lyrics go

When either Simon or Garfunkel go, it’ll be either The Boxer or, more likely, Homeward Bound.

When Aretha goes, probably Respect.

Garth Brooks: I got friends in low places.

Loudon Wainwright III: Dead Skunk By The Side Of The Road (odd choice, but it’s his best known song).

Arlo Guthire: Alice’s Restaurant or City of New Orleans

Nitpick: Dead Skunk in the MIDDLE of the Road. Sorry, it was the first single I ever bought!

Glenn Campbell: Rhinestone Cowboy.

Alan Alda: The theme to MAS*H (Suicide is Painless).

And if anyone from the cast of MAS*H commits suicide…

Robin Gibb: Staying Alive (snicker)

Betty White: Thank You For Being a Friend

Streisand - get ready for “People” a million times.
Liza - here comes “Cabaret” with special emphasis on “…and when I go, I’m goin’ like Chelsea!”
Elton - “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” with copious references to goodby Elton.

If that girl who sings that song “Friday” dies, they’ll probably play that song “Friday”.

“Photograph” would be appropriate, but “With a Little Help From My Friends” is more of a signature song.
I’m trying to think of what Brian Wilson’s would be. Maybe “God Only Knows,” although Carl sang lead on that one.

Leonard Cohen: Hallelujah

Nitpick: “… going like Elsie”… who had two sordid rooms in Chelsea.

(Sorry!)

I wonder if Dolly Parton will also get I Will Always Love You, or if it will be something else.

Oh, please. Dolly will get 9 to 5.

Don’t be sorry - I should know better. I have heard that song 1000’s of times…

Quite right.

Rick Astley: Never Gonna Give You Up

I Will Always Love You will likely also be played when Dolly Parton leaves this mortal plane, although Coat of Many Colors will probably be played just as much.

Continuing with the country music folks:

Coal Miner’s Daughter for Loretta Lynn
Go Rest High on that Mountain for Vince Gill (actually written in memory of the late Keith Whitley)
Ballad of Jed Clampett for Earl Scruggs
