When was the MRR vaccine first used in the US?

I’ve given up on google, since I’m getting nowhere with the search terms I’ve used.

I know that it was introduced in the UK in 1988, and there are references to a step-up(?) program “ten years earlier” in the US, and that all three components of the vaccine were developed in the 1960s. When were the three combined in the US for the first time (wide-spread use)?

ftr my interest has nothing to do with autism, and I’d like to leave that out of this thread, thank you.

MMR, that is. :smack: stupid fingers…

I specifically remember getting an MMR, in the United States, in 1988. For what that information is worth.

This article says 1971, and reasonably distinguishes it from the measles vaccine introduced in 1963.

Thank you! That’s great, it’s before October of 1972, which fits a scifi story plot I’m working on. I figured it had to be earlier than 1978 - meaning that whatever the step up program was it was after it’d been used a while- since I’m pretty sure I was given it as a baby.
