When Were Headbands Last In Style?

I think Pat Benatar was the last style icon to wear them unironically. Luke Wilson in some Wes Anderson movie, maybe?

Headbands are in style now, ya old fogies. Mostly 20’s inspired stuff, thanks to Downton Abbey and The Great Gatsby, although the hippie/bohemian look persists and overlaps.

People still occasionally were them. Some people wear them with doorags. Many people like Lebron James wear them when playing sports. And of course there is this guy.

Little known Wire trivia fact. Marlo’s Stansfield’s headband was made of velcro, so he could fasten lighters, spare clips of bullets, coupons, shopping lists etc to it and keep his hands free for handling drugs. Unfortunately because it caused such a hassle in continuity the producers made him wear it ‘au naturel’.

I rather like that in the list of threads it currently says:

“When were headbands last in fashion?”
“Dire Straits’ Walk of Life”

Question answered right there, I think…

Better than deported. But I digress. I may find reason to band my head. Whatever I wear is de facto stylish because I’m an eternal fashion plate. Even the paisley kilt.

…are we talking about GIRL headbands, or BOY headbands?

Were you wearing them in 2015, when this thread was last in style?
