It depends on how bright the room is.
Perhaps “fall” is too vague of a word. I’ll ask the question differently (or maybe it’s a different question…) When you close your eyes, are your pupils open or closed? Do they change space while in different stage of sleep, such as REM?
Or perhaps DrFidelius knew what I meant and was simply being ignorant.

To answer the OP: The pupils never ‘close’ they are always ‘open.’
The do constrict in light and dialate in darkness. Thefore they dialate when you close your eyes to sleep. I have no data as to their reaction to various stages of sleep but would assume that they are not affected signifigantly as much as light level agects them.
I look in the pupils of lots of sleeping people. Most people have pupils that get bigger in the darkness, such as when the eyelids are closed. This differs in some patients who have had strokes, blindness, Bell’s palsy, glaucoma or used certain drugs.
