The title is my question. Actually, where are all the swimming coaches? I don’t ever see them. You see the coaches for gymnasts. So what’s the deal here?
The coach of the Hungarian woman with three golds is her husband and he is all over the TV. I predict she is banned from the sport and her medals stripped within two years.
You haven’t been watching very closely. The coaches are shown on screen quite a few times. They don’t need to be on the pool deck because there’s not much to coach a swimmer at that point.

I haven’t even heard them mention his coach. His mom and fiancee and baby, yes. No doubt. But, I never even hear the announcers say anything about the coach’s reaction, nothing. Even the retiring Hungarian coach of the American “Final Five” (I am so bad with names) gets camera time.
