My fourth wedding anniversary is next week. The traditional gifts are flowers/fruit and the modern gift is appliances. While my husband is quite the seasoned pro at cooking and taking care of things around the house I have no intention of buying him a dishwasher or blender. What I would like to buy him are some truly amazing chocolate covered cherries. They’re one of his very favorite indulgences and I want to find some that are out of this world. Any suggestions?
If it’s a store it would need to be in the Northern VA area or a place that can ship by next Thursday.
Darn… can an administrator please edit my title so it doesn’t say “cget a-maz-ing chocolate covered cherries.” Jeez I even previewed and still missed that.
hmmm sorry, can’t help you in that amount of time, but just wanted to let you know that there are recipes available to make your own. THAT might be really awesome and romantic, but they seem to take 2 weeks to ‘gel’ correctly.
Are you looking for plain chocolate covered cherries, or cherry cordials?
If it’s the former, you could get some pit-less (pitted) cherries, fondue chocolate, and a couple of skewers. Just set out a few candles, and you’ll have a romantic, intimate, tasty evening. You could even have several types of chocolates (white, dark, milk, etc.) , and multiple things to dip (strawberries, bananas, marshmallows, brownies).
If it’s the latter, most large chocolate companies have online stores, although you may have to pay for 2nd-day shipping to get it by Thursday. You might also try making your own, although, as KingLupid said, they need to sit for a week or two. A Google search will get you plenty of recipies.
Ca3799 found these amazing cherries for me a couple of years ago, they are dried cherries covered in chocolate and they are incredible!, the company has cherries, blueberries, cranberries and more but you will have to pay for fast shipping as they are in Washington state (i think). go to www.chukar.com .
