Where can I find information to prove or debunk political e-mails?

I know about checking Snopes, but sometimes I get e-mails with supposedly factual information that I can’t find on Snopes. I just got an e-mail called “Nobama - Did you notice who he threatened?” that’s got all these claims about Obama that I’m sure are a mix of true and false. If I do all the research myself, it will probably take all weekend. And then it will be ignored when I send my research back to my doofus cousin that believes all these e-mails at face value.

Is it this?

It starts like this:

"Did you notice who Obama threatened when he wasn’t getting his way on raising the debt ceiling? He threatened to not pay:

Social Security Retirees,
Military Retirees,
Social Security Disability
and
Federal Retirees…"

And goes on to claim that Obama is NOT threatening to take away violent inmates’ access to the Internet, to cut down on his and Michelle’s spending at taxpayers’ expense, welfare and food stamps, etc.

I have searched high and low for anything about this email to no avail so far. I’m not sure when Obama talked about the debt ceiling, so I’m not sure how to search directly for his comments on this issue.

This is what it’s talking about.

He didn’t “threaten” not to pay that stuff, he was saying that if they didn’t raise the debt ceiling that the money might not be there. It was the Republicans who were playing games with those funds for political purposes.

Thank you, thank you. I figured that was probably the case. My doofus cousin still won’t listen, so I don’t know why I even try. :smack:
